Review: The Green Power Miter Saw

Believe it or not, one of my girlfriends is a do-it-yourselfer. She recently made a picture frame for me with her Green Power Miter Saw. I painted a picture that I am quite proud of and I took it to her to be framed. You would think her workshop belonged to her husband, but it doesn’t. It is all hers. She is the handyman of the house, or should I say handy person to be politically correct.

The miter saw, made by Green Power has a blade that turns at 4500 rpm’s and the double insulated motor runs on 1800 watts. Being covered with 2 layers of insulation, the motor is prevented from leaking out an electrical current in a shortage. The user is protected from receiving an electrical shock.

My friend, Marie, makes angular cuts like a pro. She makes the Green Power Miter Saw look easy enough for anyone to use. The saw makes a perfect cut at almost any angle. I’ve seen her cut crown molding with this saw. She said that crown molding is not very easy to cut correctly unless you have a compound miter saw. The Green Power Miter Saw is a 10 inch slide compound saw with a laser guide.

Marie showed me the crown molding she put up in her living room. It totally changed the look of the room from what it looked like before. I asked her who taught her to do all this work, and she said she picked it up from her dad. She did all the work with the Green Power Miter Saw. Marie showed me that the saw is ergonomically designed, and very easy to handle. The blade cuts with just a light touch of your trigger finger. The saw’s 10 inch carbide blade cuts at a 90 degree angle, made possible by the saw’s radial arm that allows for movement of the blade.

This saw is designed to cut wood, but my friend says she can cut metal and plastic. The Green Power Miter Saw’s blade can be directed to the right or left, and can be tilted to almost any angle, which if you are wanting to make more than one angular cut on the same piece of wood, this feature is very helpful.

I asked Marie to tell me about the saw, and this is what she said:

This is a rugged little saw. I’ve cut through aluminum when I put up new siding and PVC pipes when I had a plumbing job to do in the bathroom. I don’t hire anything done that I can do myself. This saw has 9 power stops, which is really helpful when I need make my cuts only so deep.

Marie bought her Green Power Miter Saw online at Overstock.com. She paid less than $200 for it. You can see a picture of the Green Power Miter Saw by clicking here. It doesn’t matter if you are a woman or a man; if you are into wood working you might find that the Green Power Miter Saw is just what you need to make all your jobs easier.
