Review of Celebrity Resorts in Orlando, Florida

After completing graduate school in May of 2006, I was ready for a well-deserved vacation. One of my colleagues and I decided to take a trip to Florida to visit some of my family and to see the attractions that Orlando has to offer. In preparation for our trip, we went to hotels.com to look for hotel accommodations. Celebrity Resorts in Orlando, Florida appeared to jump off the screen during our search. So, we decided to book reservations for $72.00 a night. This appeared to be a very affordable and economical price. However, with other hotels in the area being much more expensive, we worried that Celebrity Resorts might not be such a great place to stay. Fortunately, our worries were in vain.

Upon arrival at Celebrity Resorts, my friend and I were shocked to discover the wonderful benefits and accommodations the place had to offer. We were immediately introduced to a concierge who was able to give suggestions and offer packages for our vacation experience. Our living quarters for the next few days was fantastic! They provided a full kitchen, equipped with dishes, silverware, ice trays, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, and plenty of cupboards and countertop space. There was a small dining area with a glass table and four nice chairs. This dining area was adjoined to the small living room, furnished with a love seat, couch, end table, and entertainment center which included a television, radio and DVD player. The bedroom was off the side of the living room. Half of the room was surrounded with mirrors. The king size bed was very comfortable and inviting. The bathroom ajoined the bedroom and had a wonderful two-seat jacuzzi. We found the accommodations to be more than we expected!

The hotel offered other perks as well. The swimming area was beautiful with a pond on the other side of the fence. A nice gentleman even offered cold wash cloths to comfort us from the heat. They had an exercise center, movie rental, and other nice amenities. Parking was never a problem.

The location of Celebrity Resorts was perfect for us, and it appeared to be a pretty safe area. Disney was only about 5 minutes driving distance away. The Arabian Knights, Medieval Times, and Al Capone Dinner Shows were all within 15 minutes of the hotel. The Old Town section of Orlando was 5 minutes away. There were several restaurants, tourist shops, and other shopping plazas within minutes of Celebrity Resorts. Literally, we were in a great central location.

When my friend and I stayed at the resorts, Celebrity Resorts were under renovations. This didn’t provide too much of a problem, but there were a few inconveniences. A lot of people were in and out of the lobby which made waiting in line a long experience at times. Also, there were some trucks in and out that were working on this or that. The other drawback that we experienced was the gap between the outside door and and the floor of our suite. The door was about an inch from the ground. Since our suite was on the bottom level and opened directly to the outside, we believe that is how our 2 little gecko friends made their way into our suite. They are completely harmless, but I must admit I was frightened at first. However, like I said earlier, Celebrity Resorts was under renovations, so maybe this little problem will be fixed. I would not let this complication deter me from staying there again.

My friend and I could not have asked for a better stay in Orlando. Celebrity Resorts fit our budget, and it provided a great spot for our much needed reprieve! Because of the nice facilities, I spent all of the daytime hours one day at the resort by myslef, completely content to just relax. I would reccommend this vacation destination.
