Review of Heron’s Point Apartments in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Heron’s Point Apartments is located just off of Laskin Road in the Hilltop area. It is really close to Oceana and would be perfect for anyone in the military. The apartments are tucked off of the local road so you miss the traffic right off Laskin. However it does back up to the interstate and in some apartments you can really hear the cars driving by.
The property manager of this complex is so nice and will help you with any problems or concerns. The maintenance staff is also excellent at handling concerns. Anytime I called in a concern they were out within 24 hours to fix the problem. For serious problems, like when my heat wasn’t working, they had someone out within an hour to fix it.
The actual apartments are in great shape. When I moved in during the fall of last year everything was brand new. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom had just been replaced. There was brand new carpet and tile on the floors. There is a nice little porch off of every apartment which is perfect for setting up a couple of chairs and enjoying some fresh air. There are also gas fireplaces in every living room which are great to have in the cold winter months.
The apartment sizes are great, with plenty of room. There are two and three bedroom options. The two bedrooms have two bathrooms which is great for roommates looking to share. The closet in the master bathroom is a decent size and the one in the second bedroom is just a little smaller. There is tons of storage space in the kitchen and they all have a pantry. It is rare to find a separate pantry in apartments today and this one will hold plenty of food.
They also have a small separate area off of the kitchen for the washer and dryer. I recommend finding an apartment with a washer and dryer, the ones with laundry rooms are such a pain. You always have to have quarters on hand, half the time the machines aren’t working and when they are they are full of other people’s clothes.
The prices of these apartments are a bit more expensive than other ones in the area but you are really paying for a higher quality apartment. I believe it’s worth the extra money to live in a nice place. They do allow pets, up to two in each apartment. The pet fees are a bit expensive but you’re going to find extra fees at any apartment. I recommend this complex to anyone looking in the area, you will not regret it.
