All three are within close proximity to the Pike County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are also home to community, political and marketing events. Piketon also has within its village heart the DogWood Festival every year in Spring.
The Piketon Motel is very close to the Dog Wood Festivities. The Dog Wood Festival is an event with historical activities like sewing, quilting and making apple butter. Many arts, crafts and flea market type tables lines the streets, while carnival food shops clog the center streets.
The community has local entertainment that performs at center stage, and a king and queen contest for several age groups. Various child games like water balloon toss and egg races let children win Dog Wood spending money from the village.
