Review of the Ekco Miracle Can Opener

My can opener must be about 20 years old. It shows the signs of age. There is nothing fancy about my can opener. It is not that attractive to look at. In fact, some may say it is downright grimy. It is not something I would write home to mom about. I will not start blogging about it. Still, I use it everyday. I cannot imagine my life without my Ekco can opener. Or, as it is self-labeledEkco Miracle Can Opener.

My can opener is a manual one. I like that since it does not matter to me how many times the power goes out. I still can use my can opener. If nothing else in my house works, I can always count on my can opener. (Maybe that is why it is called ‘Miracle Can Opener’).

My can opener does not take up much room. It does not require a certain amount of countertop space. Nor does it require a special storage area. It is easy to store and fits very nicely in my silverware drawer. I love my can opener.

A great feature about my can opener is its ease of use. It is not hard to puncture cans with my can opener. Once punctured, it is not hard to turn the key (aka lever) to open the can. It does not take much strength to open cans. The entire process of opening a can is effortless with my trusty Ekco manual can opener. I love my manual can opener.

There is a bottle cap remover on one end of my Ekco can opener. This comes in very handy for times when twist off tops are unheard of. It is very easy to use the bottle cap remover. There is no twisting or grunting to do while using it. I like that feature in my manual can opener.

My manual can opener has a lifelong guarantee. It is engraved on the side of the handle. If it were to ever fail, Ekco would replace for free. How nice is that? I have never had to use this guarantee.

My manual can opener is priced very reasonably. I have seen excellent prices in today’s marketplace for a new version of my manual can opener. I do not need it. I love my current can opener.

My manual can opener is really not that versatile. Other than opening cans and removing bottle caps, it does not do much. Still, I love my can opener.

My can opener is easy to take on picnics and outdoor activities. It fits very nicely in backpacks, picnic baskets, and other items. Plus, it is lightweight. Actually, it is rather unnoticeable. It is neither bulky nor cumbersome to carry and pack.

My can opener does not need a cover like many of the modern electric versions. I find that comforting. I love my manual can opener.

My manual can opener allows me a chance to use my muscles. I work my hand, lower arm, and finger muscles while using my can opener. I like that. I love my can opener.

I am trying to think of a drawback to my manual can opener. Or, I am hoping to come up with an area that it needs improving. I simply cannot think of any. There is nothing wrong with my Ekco Miracle Can Opener.

Oh, I take that back. I am looking at my Ekco Miracle Can Opener now. It needs cleaned. Well, it has lasted about 20 years so far. I can only hope it will last another 20. I cannot imagine life without my Ekco Miracle Can Opener.
