Review of the Magic Chop Cutting Board
I of course purchased the Magic Chop Cutting Board and brought it home to see how it would function. It is very thin, I would say about a sixteenth of an inch, so I was wary of how it would work. It looks as if you could cut a hole right through the cutting board while slicing a tomato.
However, I have been pleasantly surprised with my Magic Chop Cutting Board. The first thing I liked was the variety of designs. I understand that there are numerous designs to choose from, but my local store only had apples and warblers, hot peppers, some sort of an Italian scene, and grapes and vines. They are very pretty and you could probably even go to a larger store, or a kitchen ware store and find a design to match your kitchen perfectly. The Magic Chop Cutting Board was only 7.99 on sale so it was a reasonable price. It has served its purpose well
The Magic Chop Cutting Board is very flexible, thin, lightweight, and has a nonskid surface on the back so it won’t slid around when using it. I loved the fact that it folds for carrying across the kitchen and putting ingredients in the soup or whatever you are cooking. That is more difficult with a regular wood or glass cutting board. I have tested it and it is great for chopping, dicing, and mincing. It is also good for all types of foods
An added feature of the art work on the Magic Chop Cutting Boardis is that cuts do not show on the board. I am not sure if it is the material it is made of, or the design itself, but I was almost afraid to use it at first, as it was so pretty.
It is very easy to clean and it is dishwasher safe. It protects your counter tops and when you are finished with it, it is very easy to store. When washing it, I didn’t notice a problem getting stains or odors out of it. I sometimes have to wash my typical cutting board several times to get rid of a nasty smell. One wash and the smell comes right off.
The Magic Chop cutting board claims to have antibacterial properties built right into the plastic that is safe and won’t come off on your food. This feature puzzles me, but I have never tasted anything on my food. I have eaten fresh fruit right off the board and it tastes perfectly fresh. They claim to have a patent for both the board itself and the antibacterial properties. I suppose this property is why it was so easy to get rid of the onion smell.
I would highly suggest the Magic Chop Cutting Board. I honestly prefer it over traditional cutting boards, either glass or wood.
