Romance Your Valentine with a Romantic Date in Houston

Valentine’s Day Checklist: Flowers, Chocolates….a night on the town? With Houston growing larger every day, it can be difficult to decide where to head out on a romantic date. Make it more than just a dinner date this year, let this guide help you start off the night right with a quick selection of date ideas.

Touted as Houston’s most romantic restaurant, Spindletop will delight the senses with a wonderful view of Houston. Relax in the ambience, surrounded by luxurious surroundings and beautiful scenery. Select a wonderful wine for you and your date while you debate the fantastic menu choices. The only revolving restaurant in Houston, it will delight the child in you both while satisfying you with decadent desserts and mouth watering apple martinis.

Afraid of heights? Bone up on your French and head over to Chez Nous, in Humble. Allow the chef to woo you with the house specialty, a fantastic rack of lamb. Enjoy a good glass of French wine and just take in your surroundings.

If you can break the romantic spell these restaurants seems to cast, head into the Theater District downtown. Catch a show at the Alley Theater, or the Hobby Center for Performance Arts. Watch a Broadway inspired show, or enjoy one of the many musical acts that frequent the Bayou City. Weather permitting, grab a blanket and head to the Theater Under the Stars and grab a patch of grass to watch one of the shows outside!

Not feeling like a show? Head over to Tranquility Park, and steal a kiss in front of the beautifully lit and oh-so-romantic golden fountains. Although, when it comes to outdoor romance, the Williams Waterwall can provide the perfect backdrop to a romantic kiss. Once you have watched a show, stolen a kiss or two, there is only one thing left to do! Grab your date by the hand and head into one of our many fantastic bars for a nightcap. Marfreless is an invitation to snuggle together, martini in hand, seated on soft couches and surrounded by beautiful, candle-lit tables. If one of our fabulous theatres wasn’t enough entertainment enough for you, head down to Ovations for a little local jazz.

Wanting even a bit more activity? Slide on over to Drink Houston for friendly bartenders and a spacious dance floor. Just want to enjoy a nice glass of wine? Head towards LaCarafe, a 130 year old building that just begs you to enjoy its dark mystique. There is such a variety of date ideas here in Houston that it is hard to pin down just a few. Hope your evening goes well!
