Romantic Camping

Camping & Romance, I Think Not! When most people think about camping, they are not thinking about romance, they are imaging becoming one with nature, not one with another human. Camping and romance? I think not! But, can camping include the subtle possibilities or the capabilities of great romance? Camping does not have to equate to roughing it by any means, but I know that you are thinking about the bugs, critters, creepy crawlers, and maybe even about the hard floor that you are quite possibly going to be sleeping on, but that is where the allure of it all comes into play. A quiet outing away from television, traffic, work, and day to day stresses that bog us down can actually open up our senses and our awareness level to the point that we notice the things directly within our reach from a new perspective. Most of us do not have the time or the energy to dedicate our complete attention to another person due to more pressing issues, but camping opens up a whole new range of possibilities. Engage in activities that you normally would not have the time for. Things like board games, cards, fishing, skinny dipping, and frolicking like kids.

Come Prepared For Romance

Bring a picnic basket stuffed full of foods that you can feed to each other while soaking up the warm heat from a small fire that can be extinguished quickly. Make sure that you place small throw pillows on a soft blanket for cuddling up around the fire. Strawberries, oranges, cheese, Biscotti, chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers, and an assortment of lunch meats or marinated pre-cooked fish are all great choices for hand feeding each other. A small fondue pot and a candle work wonders for melting chocolate. Fresh water is good, but a nice bottle of wine is even better. There is no need for fancy glasses, plastic will work just as well for this type of occasion. Bed time does not have to be a nightmare. A tent has all of the possibilities for a romantic interlude, so long as bulky camping gear isn’t strewn everywhere. Set the tent up for romance with soft lighted lanterns, a small radio, soft & silky blankets, and lots of throw pillows. An air mattress works wonders on a hard floor, so make sure that this is part of the bed. Tents are fairly private, and there is nothing about them that should pull your attention away from the other person like ringing phones, unwelcome guests popping in or deadlines, and if you don’t particularly fancy a tent, then set up your bed by the fire. This will open up opportunities fro gazing into each other’s eyes or star gazing. No matter where you choose to sleep, you can completely focus on each other as you are the only two people there in the moment.

Intimate Bonding

If the scenic wonders of nature aren’t enough to entice you into a romantic outdoor adventure, then the person you came with should. This is a time where you can reflect, plan, and communicate on all levels without interruptions. You can focus on each other completely while enjoying beautiful surroundings. The noise of the city is far away, and this can be a time for intimate bonding, and really getting to know each other on different levels. There is nothing more romantic then really listening to what your love’s most deepest thoughts are. Camping brings this type of attitude out due to the very nature of being away from it all. Walking through trails, holding hands, and stopping for an occasional kiss will only lead to new adventures in your relationship. Camping? I think so!
