This simple gesture would unbelievable mark history.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ ” I didn’t know why I refused to stand up when they told me, but the real reason of myÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ notÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ standing up was I felt I had the right to be treated as any other passenger, we had endured that kind of treatment long enough.”Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ After her arrest, a late night meeting resulted in 35,000 handbills being sent out to all the black schools, asking everyone to stay off ofÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½the buses in protest to Rosa’s arrest and trial.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ This started a 381-day boycott on the bus systems led by Rev. King.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ Rosa had lost her job at the department store, but that did not stop her.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ This boycott led to the Supreme Court ruling in November of 1956, that segregation on public transportation was unconstitutional.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½
