Rotala Magenta Freshwater Plant: Pink and Green in Color
This plants requires a little bit more light than your average freshwater plants. You will want to purchase a different bulb that you can replace your current light with. You will want a higher wattage bulb and I would suggest asking the people at the pet store what they would recommend purchasing. This place needs a good amount of light so your current bulb will probably not be good enough to keep this plant alive.
You will also want to keep the temperature in your fish tank around 70 to 80 degrees. You will want to keep the tank away from areas in your home which can get drafty such as door ways, windows and vents. Usually your fish tank will stay around 75 degrees without a heater but you will still want to purchase one to make sure that the tanks temperature does not drop below 70 or 71 degrees.
This plant will also get very large in your aquarium. Even if you have a 55 gallon tank it will fill up at least half of your fish tank. If you want a plant that will stay small, this is not the plant for you. You will also need to purchase many different supplements to add to the water in order to keep this plant alive. You also need to put fertilizer in the substrate like you would any other type of freshwater plant. This plant is more work than your average plants and it gets a lot larger as well. This plant is a good way to provide your tank with a little bit more color and a lot more hiding places if you have a big enough tank to keep the Rotala Plant alive.
