Clearwater Community Sailing Center, located at 1001 Gulf Boulevard, Clearwater, FLorida. offers Youth Classes, Senior Classes as well as private and group classes. Youth classes are Beginner, Intermediate, High School, Advanced and Collegiate. Beginner classes teach the basics of sailing, getting on the water, which will often lead to a lifetime enjoyment of sailing. Intermediate classes are a continuation of the beginner classes. High School classes are planned for sailors who wish to be on a sailing team in the Collegiate 420. Advanced classes are a continuation on the skills needed to race the 420s at a superior level, sailing in college or just advancing the sailing skills of the student. Collegiate classes are the last level before entering college level sailing. Senior classes are perfect for the person who may be sailing for the first time or may be re-entering the world of sailing. Classes offered include Beginner, Re-discover Sailing and Special Needs. Beginner classes teach the basics of sailing on to being on the water in a safe, stable boat, carefully being watched by a chase boat. Senior classes are exclusively for seniors and do not include any youth. Re-discover Sailing classes are actually refresher courses for seniors who have sailed before. Special Needs classes are geared toward senior students who have reduced physical ability or a fear of the water.
