Scammer’s Delight

Pocket’s lined with jean lint
Stomach growling from hungry embarrassment
Doused in Pepto and Antacid pills
Downed dirty lemon iced teas
Started wondering what disease can join the party
By invitation only or crash another happy occasion
Time to stock up on doctor’s shots and antibiotics
Body riddled with needle marks and band aids
Drank at least half a bottle of orange juice
Bladder the size of the Good Year blimp
Head full of too much noise pollution
Took a sledgehammer to too many car horns
Shattered a few car windows as a momentary perk
Transformed from an independent free spirit consumer
Into a mindless answering machine drone
With a continuous playback button
Repeated same corporate junk robots knew
Backwards, frontwards, and sideways
Needed motor oil to make joints not squeak
No more stiff movements from the manual
Time to burn the rule book
Made a new piece of firewood out of it
Replaced standard rules with free expression
No schedules or plans
Just creativity to cheat someone out of money
And dignity as a bonus gift
The slow no drip candle burn of a long con
Nothing like the thrill of a reeled in mark
A sucker that was born a minute ago
And broke in the next sixty seconds
Left before the sirens were in hearing range
A quick getaway for a quick thinker
Hidden before the handcuffs appeared
Hibernated in a cave until a new mark arrived
Whenever that will be
No rush to start another just yet
Focused on smelling the ill gotten financial roses
In the meantime
Just what the scam doctor ordered
Until the next prescription is filled.
