Seabreeze: Water Park Fun in Rochester, New York
As with any amusement park, certain rides have restrictions based on an individuals health conditions or height. All attractions have a sign posted in the entrance way, detailing the height requirements and other important information.
Some general rules and guidelines at Seabreeze state that alcoholic beverages, glass containers, weapons, and radios are not allowed into the park. If a family chooses to have a picnic in the park area, they are allowed to bring carry-in items; however, all of those items are subject to a search by park employees. Before visiting the park, you should check the weather. If it is raining on the day of your visit then certain rides may temporarily close down due to safety concerns. If the bad weather keeps up and Seabreeze decides to close down for the remainder of the day, inquire about rain checks, which are sometimes offered.
Three of the most popular roller coasters at Seabreeze are the Jack Rabbit, Bear Trax, and the Whirlwind. The Jack Rabbit was built in 1920 and is the forth oldest operating roller coaster in the country. The Jack Rabbit is a wood coaster that features amazing twists, turns, and even takes you through a dark tunnel. The Whirlwind is a fun and exciting roller coaster that has riders spinning backwards, forwards, sideways, and down. The Bear Trax is a great roller coaster for the whole family. The track has a height of 12 feet and riders will reach speeds up to 17 miles per hour.
Although Seabreeze has roller coasters and is full of additional rides (Tilt-A-Whirl, Train, and much more), Seabreeze is most famous for the fun water rides. The Wave is a giant wave pool that goes all the way up to five feet and the waves can reach a height of up to four feet. There is also a shoreline, which is great for parents to relax and watch their children in the pool. The Log Flume is a traditional ride that is fun for everyone. You will drop down a steep log flume hill into a pool of water below. The Soak Zone is a water adventure with mini slides, water cannons, mist makers, and much more. There are also three different types of body slides where you will slide down tunnels and end up in a pool below. For relaxing water fun, try Lazy River. At Lazy River, you will climb into an inner tube and float down water courses. There is also a mini water park designed for kids. Looney Lagoon has kid sized slides, other water toys, and a shallow wading area.
