Sha Qi – Feng Shui Roadways and Rivers
Outdoor sha qi can take many forms; buildings, water, natural geographical feature, roads and more. One of the easiest to visualize is the shape of an incoming road. If you have a road coming directly towards your house- a “T” junction – this is considered a sha or inauspicious energy. The energy flowing towards your house is too strong. In addition, you have car headlights shining into your home. There is an increased danger of cars not being able to stop and crashing into your house. All of these concerns will make it difficult to have a peaceful life if your home has this situation. Even if the road is not very busy the energy can still be strong. The buildings on each side of the road act as a funnel concentrating the energy. Think of closing off the end of a garden hose. The water comes out hard and fast. Will you really feel comfortable living in a place where you are constantly bombarded by seen and unseen forces?
The curve of a road can have benefits or be detrimental. If you are embraced inside a gentle curve that can be good. But if you are on the outside of the curve that is not so good. The effects are similar to the “T” junction although it is more difficult to visualize. You will still experience the dangers of out of control cars and headlights disturbing you. But energy will follow the path of least resistance. If you are at the center point of the curve the energy is coming straight towards you. If the road is very busy this can be extremely strong. The outgoing curve will also be taking energy away from you, not something we want to happen.
A road is virtual water. The same concerns apply for rivers and streams as do for roads.
If the curve in the road or river creates an effect similar to a noose, that is not auspicious. You will be surrounded on three sides by strong energy attacking you and carrying away what is left. It is possible to visualize that you will feel strangled.
If your building is in a triangular lot at an intersection, the energy is rushing towards you on two sides and then picking up what energy you have and carrying it away. If the triangular building is facing you, then the sharp point is attacking you like an arrow. In fact this situation is often called a poison arrow. It can also be found inside buildings when a corner is facing you.
These are the most common road/river sha qi that you will see around you. Take a look around you and see how many you can find. Observe what effects the sha has had on the building. You might be surprised.
