Should You Get a Tattoo?
There are some health risks that come along with tattooing. Even though the needle only goes in a little way, anytime you break the skin you have a risk of bacterial or viral infection. You can even have an allergic reaction that can cause damage to your skin. And even though they are intended to be permanent there are a number of methods that are currently used to remove them. Such as laser removal where they actually burn the tattoo off of your skin, or surgical removal. These are just a few of the many methods that can be used. Most of them are very expensive and can be pretty painful.
You should really give careful consideration before getting a tattoo. You may want to really think about the type of tattoo that you want to get and where you want to get it. Ask yourself if you want something that is visible to everyone or something a little more private and personal. Keep in mind also that after a certain period of time has passed you may lose interest in the particular tattoo. Once suggestion that I have is to maybe get a temporary tattoo. This may seem kind of silly to get a removable tattoo but it will give you a good idea of how the tattoo will look on you and help you decide exactly what you want to get. Many women choose to get tattoos put on their ankles or next to their navels. They feel that this makes them more attractive and appealing. The one thing that I would never do is get a boyfriend’s name tattooed on any part of my body. You never know if the relationship is going to last or not so why bother. There are some people that feel this is a good way to keep the memory of a loved who have passed away. Sometime they get the name of a parent, close friend or relative that they have lost in death.
Whatever you decide to do make sure you think long and hard about it. This is nothing like getting your ears pierced. Also take the time to look at different designs. And always ask to see some of the work of the person who will be putting on the tattoo. Make sure you are going to a professional. Someone who has been doing this for several years. Not all tattoo artists are the same, and not all of them are as clean and sanitary as they should be. If the shop is unclean and unorganized then don’t even waste your time. You do not want to increase your chances of getting a serious infection.
