Silver Dollar City: An Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration
The same old-fashioned craft creators and artists who make beautiful goods all summer long now offer up unique items that shoppers just will not find anywhere else.
What does Silver Dollar City have that shoppers can’t find at the mall? How about handmade leather goods that can be personalized for the individual. Jackets, skirts, caps, billfolds and other leather products are just some of what can be found in the City’s leather shop.
Choose a painting of a rural scene – there are several to choose from – and have the family’s last name painted into the picture to make it unique.
A family portrait taken in vintage clothing can make a great gift for grandparents or other relatives. These can be made at the Tintype Shop within Silver Dollar City. It doesn’t take long and the helpful photographers will assist families in finding the right old-fashioned style. Prices are moderate and the selection ranges from a gunfighter style to uptown Victorian.
The wood working shop features delightful custom plaques with a name or other personalization. Look for everything from hall trees to doll cradles.
Handmade rag dolls, wooden vehicles for boys, and a variety of unique hats are just a few more of the items that can be found in this unique nostalgic theme amusement park in the Ozarks.
Silver Dollar City is one of the few places where shoppers can find things like lye soap, kettle corn, real fried pork rinds, homemade fudge, specialty Silver Dollar City sauces, and old-fashioned candies made on site.
Glassblowers still ply their traditional craft and shoppers can take home one-of-a-kind glass gifts made before their own eyes. Custom jewelry is also made at more than one site within the park.
No holiday trip to Silver Dollar City is complete without a visit to Christmas Hollow, a specialty shop that celebrates Christmas year round. Their collection of beautiful ornaments offers something that would accent any Christmas tree and features many unique ornaments that would be hard to find anywhere else.
The bookshop offers unique Ozark titles along with nostalgic favorites and more. Next door, the linens shop features hand crafted home linens and lace that range from tablecloths that could grace the Christmas dinner table to more personal lace trimmed items.
Silver Dollar City T-shirts, caps, hats, jackets, and more also make nice souvenirs. For the first time, the park is also offering Season Passes for 2006 in advance at special lower rates through the end of December. A Season Pass would make a gift someone would enjoy for months to come. Seasons passes can be bought just for Silver Dollar City or invest in a City Hopper pass that allows the recipient to visit Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, and White Water, Branson’s top three premier theme parks as many times as possible.
Silver Dollar City is located in Branson, Missouri along Highway 76.
