Skip the Dry Cleaners and Use Dryel
It’s available in any Target, Wal Mart, Drugstore, or your large grocery chain store. I’ve actually picked up several of these dry cleaning kits at garage sales. I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone would be getting rid of these at garages sales but I snap them up when I see them.
The kit is a dry clean only fabric care system. It cleans and freshens even your most delicate clothig or any dry clean only or hand wash only fabric.
It’s been approved by Good Housekeeping and Woolmark. It uses biodegradable ingredients.
You don’t have a shrinkage problem, no stretching or fading, no worrying about buttons, shoulder pads or other accessories being broken or lost. You also save on gas and time, of course. This is a win win product.
The process uses a heat activated dryer cloth that releases moist, fiber penetratiang vapors. The vapors lift perspiration and smoke from your lcothing. It also rids your garment of wrinkles. Be aware the moisture means your item may be slightly damp when you remove it from the special bag but they willllook and smell fresh. If you have noticable stains you treat them before beginning the Dryel process. The kit comes with the Dryel Stain Remover bottle. You apply the solution to visible stains and use the absorbent pad supplied in the kit under the area being treated. The pad will absorb the stain.Be sure to check for colorfastness first. If you see color on the pad stop the process. For really difficult stains you may have to have your item professionally cleaned but you can try the Dryel system first, it is compatible with Dry Cleaning. This sytem works best on fresh stains.
Use:
Check your item for stains and treat before putting them in the bag provided. Only use the specific bag supplied in the kit.
You can put 1 to 4 items in the bag, just don’t overfill it. The items have to be able to tumble freely in the bag.
Open the pre moistened Dryel Cloth and put it in with your garments.
Set your dryer for 30 minutes on high heat. Make sure your filter is clean.
Remove the garments from the bag at the end of the 30 minute cycle and hanag to help the wrinkles fall out.
Throw the cloth away.
The bag provided in the kit should last up to 20 loads. Keep in mind each dryer is different so keep track of your time. The garments should come out damp this will be an indicator. Be sure to button and zip garments before putting them in the bag and don’t overfill the bag. You should also group garments of similar weight, color and fabric and don’t combine fuzzy lint producing items with other items so you don’t get lint transfer.
I’ve had nothing but terrific results using Dryel and highly recommend it.
