Zermatt – Klein Matterhorn Village
The Zermatt Mountain is only a free train ride from the Rothorn Paradise Train Station (they are public car free) and includes over 11 separate slopes. The longest run is 10.5 miles and the runs range from easy to advanced. The Zermatt area covers the area from Rothorn Paradise and Gornergrat to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and the Schwarzee Paradise mountain ranges.
Murren – Schilthorn, Hauterbrunnen
Each year, in January the Murren range hosts the Inferno Races and the Triathlon. Since 1928 the Murren mountain range has been open to the public for all kinds of winter sports. The longest run on the Murren range is about 10 miles long from start to finish. The Murren range falls in the midst of the Jungfrau region. The mountain village of Schilthorn, nearby to the slopes, can easily be accessed using the BLM Railway or the LSMS aerial cableway. The nearby 14 lodges offer 2,000 beds for guests and about 200 semi furnished apartments.
Davos – Weissflihjoch, Kublis
Davos is known as one of the world’s greatest snowboarding mecca’s and has been described as “a winter metropolis for snowboard and downhill enthusiasts” by Ski Press USA Magazine. Davos is one of the largest winter sports areas in Europe and also one of the highest towns above sea level. The longest run on the Davos range is 9 miles from top to bottom. There is a constant host of cultural activities in Weissflihjoch nearby the Davos range. Davos typically has fused tradition with modern comfort making it ideal for just about anyone.
Lotschental – Hockenhorngrat, Wiler
Lotschental hosts over 15 separate runs for the beginner to experienced skier or snowboard enthusiast. The longest run on Lotschental is about 9 miles. Lotschental is located in the famous Rhone Valley which has become very popular for skiing.
Verbier – Mont Fort Village
Verbier is also know as another great snowboard Mecca of Europe. The longest run here is only 7.5 miles from start to finish. Verbier has includes over 4 valley’s with 95 different lifts. The snow is generally light and deep, perfect for gliding effortlessly down the runs.
Engleberg – Titlis Village
Engleberg boasts mountain ranges that reach up to the sky for what seems like an eternity. The longest run here is also 7.5 miles from start to finish. The Engleberg range is full of alluring scenic landscapes perfect for photo opportunities. Engleberg hosts an unlimited amount of snow and winter sports. Titlis village is known for having deep roots in culture and history.
Leysin – Du Leman Region
The cool powdery snow, sun, and very good trails of Leysin range are also another popular destination for snowboard enthusiasts. The snow is light and deep, and from the top you can see a do a complete 360 and see everything in the region. Leysin is located in the French speaking part of Switzerland on Lake Leman.
Zinal – Valais, Wall
Other than being another great Mecca for snowboarders Zinal is also a meeting point for racers since it is near Ayern. One pass will give you access to all five slopes where you can snowboard, ski, paraglide or hang glide, hike, or take a winter hill walk (snow shoes). Zinal is also free from public cars but can be accessed using the free park and ride.
