This camera weighs just 6.7 ounces and is a take me everywhere digital camera. It is a pocketable, lightweight camera that is very user-friendly. It offers remarkable flexibility despite its very low price. It is a true point and shoot camera with a moderately wide 31 MM – 93 MM lens. The pictures produced by this camera are really crisp on both computer screen and when they are printed. The quality is simply amazing.
This camera is really nicely designed; with almost empty top panel (Top panel features only Power button, shutter release and a microphone jack). All the other controls are placed on the back of the camera. The controls are ergonomically placed on right side of the screen. The controls include a slider control to switch between different modes, menu button, trash button, and other controls. These give you the flexibility to adjust the camera in the way it best suits you ( or you can chose the Auto feature which lets the camera chose what it thinks is the best !!). And the LCD screen is 2.0, which is comparatively large compared to the compact size of the camera. You can edit the pictures; you can rotate them, resize them, and divide them right on the LCD screen.
Start up time for this camera is less than 2.0 seconds. And it can shoot pictures with an interval of less than 1.5 seconds. Using flash also, you can shoot pictures with an interval of less than 2 seconds. The red eye reduction feature gives quite good results. And this camera is capable of making VGA movies with 30 fps. This camera comes bundled with a USB cable, 2 AA non-rechargeable batteries, wrist strap and a CD ROM. There is also 32 MB in built memory, which is good to hold around 10 pictures. You have everything you need in the box, and you can start using it right away. User manual is very informative. And once you start going through that, you will be overwhelmed by kind of features that this cheap camera supports.
This camera is for everyone, and below $ 200, it is really a bargain. This camera beats even some of the more expensive cameras in terms of picture quality, ease of use and huge number of features. I am most impressed by its simple to use features and really good picture quality (that’s what a camera is actually meant for, isn’t it?). And coming from Sony, you are rest assured that it will last a lifetime.
Buy it. It won’t disappoint you.
