Stock Up on Petroleum Jelly for Winter

With winter coming you may want to stock up on Petroleum Jelly. For all you dirty minds, no that’s not what I think you will need the petroleum jelly for. Although it may be a hard winter.

Petroleum jelly has many uses. It’s handy for everything from butts, to faces, to metal. This stuff is wonderful. You can use it as a sealant and protector of most things. If you have ever use petroleum jelly you know it is like a globby grease. It was actually discovered with oil. Drilling rigs would be covered with it before hitting the oil. It made it difficult to work.

The biggest reason you are going to want petroleum jelly for winter is to cover faces and hands to protect from wind burn and chapped skin and lips occurring.

Here is my list of things you may want petroleum jelly for this winter and any time.

1. Petroleum Jelly is a great body moisturizer. It even soothes and prevents cracked feet.

2. Petroleum Jelly protects skin from windburn and can be used on all parts of the skin. Apply liberally to hands and face before going out into the cold.

3. Petroleum Jelly protects baby’s bottoms from diaper rash.

4. Apply Petroleum Jelly to fingers to remove tight finger rings.

5. Petroleum Jelly can be used as a make-up remover.

6. Smear Petroleum Jelly on zippers to slide easily. This is especially necessary with the snow suits.

7. Lightly apply Petroleum Jelly on car battery posts and terminals to stop corrosion from occurring.

8. Apply Petroleum Jelly to plastic and metal garbage can lids to prevent lids from freezing shut.

9. Generously apply Petroleum Jelly to shaft of keys and put in door locks, trunk locks, and any lock that might freeze. Work key 4 or 5 times to lubricate tumblers. Not only does this help keep the lock from freezing but it will alleviate the problem of the keys and locks not operating smoothly.

10. Apply Petroleum Jelly to sticky drawers’ runners and the drawer will move smooth.

11. Nuts, bolts, and screws need a little Petroleum Jelly to keep from rusting and will go in and out smoother.

12. Apply Petroleum Jelly to your boots to keep them waterproof. Also shines them. You can use petroleum jelly on purses as well.

13. Petroleum Jelly removes water rings on wood furniture if applied to damaged area and let stand overnight. Wipe excess off and buff.

14. Squeaky door hinges can be fixed by apply Petroleum Jelly to hinge pin.

15. Before Hair Coloring or Perms apply Petroleum Jelly to hairline, neck, and ears to prevent burns from the perm solution and color stains from the hair dye.

16. Petroleum Jelly will keep your hands from staining if you apply before gardening, painting or working on greasy car parts. Wipe Petroleum Jelly off with a rag when done.

17. Use Petroleum Jelly around your fingernail and toe nail skin before applying polish. Then wipe off when you get done painting.

18. Use Petroleum Jelly around paint can lids to form an air tight seal.

19. Rub Petroleum Jelly on super glue cap to prevent cap from sticking.

20. Use Petroleum Jelly on guns and knives to keep them clean and rust free.

21. Petroleum Jelly can be used on musical instruments to easily put them together and take them apart and keeps them from rusting.

22. Petroleum Jelly has been used to prevent acne. This one I have my own personal doubts about but some people swear by it.

23. Petroleum Jelly keeps rubber looking new and keeps it from becoming brittle.

24. Apply Petroleum Jelly to runners of sliding doors for smoother motion.

25. Storm Windows can use Petroleum Jelly to keep from sticking.

26. Apply Petroleum Jelly to shower rods to keep the curtain sliding with ease.

27. Refrigerator doors and freezer doors have rubber seals that Petroleum Jelly can be used on to keep the seal lasting longer. This is also true of car doors.
