Summer Party Ideas
The summertime is a great time to throw a party as it is warm outside and if you are in school, well, you don’t have it. There is an assortment of ideas for a party whether you live near the beach, in the city, or in a small town. Here are a few party ideas which will make your summer party a hit.
1. Beach theme – Whether you live near the beach or not summer is associated with the beach and a beach themed party is a great idea for experiencing the sun sand and surf. You can have things such as a volleyball net, beach towels strewn about, and Frisbees all around. Obviously if you are at the beach you can make it a little more lifelike but even if you live inland you can create the theme which will make you feel like you are in the surf, just bring the hot dogs, swim suit, and definitely the sunscreen.
2. Game party – Since the weather is generally good you can create a game themed party with many outdoor games. You can play volleyball, softball, Frisbee, soccer, or any other sport while you eat, drink, and socialize. Having mini tournaments at the party is a fun way to bring a little competition to the event and maybe give fun prizes to the winners.
3. Pot luck picnic party – The summer is a great time for a picnic and a pot luck picnic party is enjoyable and relaxing as well. A nice thing about a pot luck is that one person is not burdened with all the food and beverage ideas and costs. Have everyone bring a certain dish and a blanket and don’t forget the picnic basket. Prizes can be handed out for the best and most innovative dishes, which everyone can vote on. The picnic can also be had anywhere from the beach to the park to the lake to someone’s backyard.
4. Night party – Considering the summer heat it usually will not be too cold to have an outdoor party at night. Bring some lights or candles and a party can be set anywhere such as the beach, park, lake, or backyard.
5. Theme party – There is a never ending source of material for a theme party as you can throw a pirate, animal, 80’s, or 60’s theme party. They are fun and you can dress up in whatever theme it is. In time themed parties you can select music that will go along with the theme whether it be the disco of the 70’s to the groovy music of the 60’s.
6. Baseball party – The summer is the time for baseball and having a baseball themed party is a great way to get into the national pastime. Hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, and beer are staples at the stadium and can be at this themed party as well. You can also watch a game or if you have space play a game as well. Another option close to this is get a group of friends and have a bleacher party at a game. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.
