Surviving Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 takes place approximately 6 years after all events in Resident Evil 2, The government has launched a nuclear strike against Raccoon City, the place in which Umbrella Corporation unleashed its tested T-Virus on. Shortly after this, Leon Kennedy, a federal agent is deployed on a top secret mission to save the Presidents Daughter who has been kidnapped and taken to some off-the-map area in Europe.

Resident Evil 4 eludes any small talk and gets right to the point. Shortly after Leon Kennedy comes across a cabin, he’s confronted by a villager under the influence of the virus who’s one intent is to make sure of Leon’s death. From start to finish, this game is a race to survive. Constantly under attack by crazed zombies and other creatures, the game developers made sure to leave nothing out that would scare the living crap out of you. In addition to the weird virus controlled individuals and creatures, you can expect to find other elements that have a knack for crawling under your skin and tingling your spine. The misty thick air mixed with the run down village in the middle of nowhere creates a state of mind you’d only find in a Resident Evil game.

You are given ample opportunity to stock up on many items to help in your extermination of the virus controlled zombies throughout the game. Leading your arsenal throughout the game would be a handgun, as it is easy to find ammo for. Though, you are not limited to this. Throughout the game, a mysterious character who’s stock of items would make the Swiss Army shake in their boots will sell you weapons, medicine, and other things. The weapon play in this game is no less than exciting. The game has a bad habit of wasting your ammo, so in short, be conservative and you’ll make it fine as long as your wits are about you as well. The game combines a mixture of butt kicking zombies and puzzles to be solved involving switches, keys, forks in the road, etc. Paying attention to paintings and other small objects can give you hints needed in order to survive puzzle situations in the future.

When taking down enemies to survive, theres a lot more to it than just attempting to blow away anything that moves. Different scenarios require different guns. Some may require you to snipe, others would require heavy fire from a shotgun to prevent you from being eaten alive. All in all, this game employs many different ways to take down many different situations and come out alive. If you try to pass this game through a trial and error concept, be prepared to play a lot. Using tactics and wit will ultimately bring you out the winner.
