Syracuse, New York’s Meals on Wheels Program

Meals on Wheels is a popular non-profit organization that helps seniors and disabled individuals across the country get the proper meals they deserve and need to survive. The Syracuse’s Meals on Wheels program was founded in May of 1959. The Syracuse area organization serves meals to residents throughout Southern Onondaga County. The Wheels on Meals program serves nutritious meals to homebound patients. These patients are often unable to prepare or shop for their own food. The program generally will send out two meals to each recipient. At the organized delivery time, a hot meal for lunch will be served and a cold meal will be dropped off for dinnertime.
