Talking to Your Children About Sex

If you were to take a poll on what makes young adults happy the majority would probably say sex. This is perfectly normal since everyone has these natural desires and feelings. But as a parent you will want to take the time to teach your child at an early age all they need to know about sex. For many parents this is a subject that they do not even want to think about discussing.

However studies have shown that the discussion of sex has become more open over the past several years. Unfortunetly this is because there are more youths having sexual intercourse at earlier ages than ever before. Many feel that it it is ok to live togehter and have sex without being married, among numerous other issues. It is usally what is viewed as popular today that determines what your children will do. But why allow your children to learn about sex from the wrong sources. Your child should be taught how beautiful sex can be from you.

As your teenager gets older, they will become more and more curious about sex. This is especially the case since all they see on tv and in movies has to do with sex. A medical columnist by the name of Dr Kapel listed several reasons behind premarital sex and made a few observations as to the effects or consequences: ” Sex is musused as a means of rebellion against parents. It is used to attract attention, and is also used in a way of proving masculinity or feminity.

It is misused as a social crutch in vain attempt to gain acceptance.” He also stated”, When sex is misused, it never solves the problems that motivate it. Usually it only obscures them.” Some people feel that following these types of viewpoints are too old fashioned, and are not interested in following God’s principles, that are clearly outlined in the bible. For those who do not believe in religion there are no boundries, and along with no boundries also comes consequences.

If your children are taught properly they will realize that sexual attraction and desire can have fine effects in the proper setting. In a family where both the mother an father are married, the result of of having children is a source of happiness. But when people who are not married have the same effect, it is usually not a very happy occasion. Although they may be happy about having a baby, they are now not sure if they will still be together when the baby is born, in addition to other problems that may arise.

Did you know that it is now even easier for your children to obtain contraceptives? They feel that as long as they use protection there is no need to worry about consequences. But what many teens fail to realize is that sex before marriage brings a lot of pressure on both the young men and the young women. Your children need to understand that the best protection is to abstain from having sex until they are married.
