Taylor Hicks CDs

Are there any Taylor Hicks CDS? Yes there are more then just the single of Do I Make You Proud/Taking it to the Streets, the American Idol debut album. Taylor Hicks has been a singer/songwriter for 10 years. He was in the public performing at bars, fairs and parties playing his music. There are two other Taylor Hicks CDS, In Your Time and Under the Radar. He went out and made these CDS on his own. And many of the songs were written by him. Because Taylor Hicks was not under a recording contract for either of his previous albums, he still qualified to compete on the fifth season of the hit reality television show American Idol. In which he also won and became 2006s American Idol! In 1997 In Your Time came out. This was Taylor Hicks first CD.

This Taylor Hicks CD contains the tracks:
“Son of a Carpenter”
“The Fall”
“In Your Time”
“Somehow”
“On Broadway”
“Tighten Up”
“Georgia”

Finding this Taylor Hicks CD though can prove hard to do as it is no longer on sale. About the only place I have found it is on Ebay.com and it ranges in price from $50 and higher. I have even seen it for as high as $899.99. This Taylor Hicks CD is of course his first release and because Taylor Hicks popularity is constantly growing and his career is just taking off Taylor Hicks is expected to be one of the legends in music and if his fans “The Soul Patrol” are any indication of the start of his career and fan base this CD will be a wise investment. My personal favorite on this CD is “The Fall” which was written for a previous girlfriend. The song is soft and mellow and heartfelt. It is about a love coming to an end because their lives are growing apart. The line in this song that I really love is “feelings will pass and soon have to go the colder the heart, the harder the wind blows although you’re trying to make your own throughway you turn your back on love with the games that people play. Here it comes just rushing in the distant smile replies, a distant grin it’s not so bad after all I climbed the ladder, baby, and you took the fall you took the fall, ” Also worth noting on this CD is the song “On Broadway” a song I never much liked until I heard Taylor Hicks version. His voice and his Taylorized version to this song have made it one of my favorites now.

The next Taylor Hicks CD was released in 2005 and is titled “Under the Radar.” With this album Taylor is playing to his strengths musically. I personally love every song on this Taylor Hicks CD. His voice sounds great…smooth and easy.

The tracks on this Taylor Hicks CD are:
The Deal
Hell of a Day
Hold On To Your Love
Heart and Soul
West Texas Sky
Soul Thing
My Friend

This Taylor Hicks CD can be purchased at http://www.lasersedgecd.com/hicks_taylor.html . The Deal is a gentle and slightly jazzy song about love leading to commitment. Taylor’s guitar playing in this is especially nice. Heart and Soul is slow and soulful featuring some tasty organ work over the guitar and percussion. I love this song the most on this Taylor Hicks CD. Hell of a Day is a tender piece featuring a wailing steel guitar. Taylor’s vocal is really showcased on this song.

Taylor Hicks CDs reflect his own brand of soul and blues influenced music. His music reflects the same sort of raw emotion and sensibilities so apparent in the songs he grew up on they convey pain, loss, and love all of which are evident in Taylor Hicks’ CD “Under the Radar“.

Even the slowest of his songs are sung with such energy and grit it would make his predecessors proud.

Taylor Hicks CD from American Idol Do I Make You Proud/Taking It to the Streets can be bought at stores nation wide such as Wal-Mart and Target, and online at Amazon.com. Do I Make You Proud has been #1 on the charts for 6 weeks now. This song is made beautiful by Taylor singing with lots of emotion. I believe as do many others that this song will end being an anthem played at many important times in life when the question simply is Do I Make You Proud such as during graduations or for a father/daughter dance at weddings. Even now this song is serving as an anthem for the Troops fighting in Iraq. Taylor dedicates this song to the troops at every AI concert. Letting them no that know matter what someone’s view is on the war they still do make us proud for standing up and doing what is asked of them. You can also buy and download these tracks at itunes.com for 99 cents each. At lasersedgecd.com the sales of CDs there have Taylor Hicks CD “Under the Radar” as the number 1 seller with “Johnny Cash / American 5: A Hundred Highways” coming in number 3 and Taylor Hicks CD Do I Make You Proud? CD-single coming in number 7 even the Dixie Chicks / Taking the Long Way comes in way past Taylor Hicks CDS at number 26.

Taylor Hicks is on tour right now with the American Idols but when the tour is over in September, Taylor Hicks will be in the studios making another Taylor Hicks CD and this new Taylor Hicks CD is scheduled for release in November.
