This past summer many people definitely felt the gas crunch on their wallets when prices reached an all time high. But even though gas prices have come down a little, it is very possible that those prices will begin to rise again soon. What can you do to keep your wallet from feeling the gas crunch? Following are ten tips that may help you to accomplish this task.

1. Only use your car when you have to. This would mean that you have to cut out those leisurely drives that some like to take in the evenings. Try using your car only when you really need to, like going to work or the store.

2. Try taking public transportation. If it is available in your area and not a far walk, why not look into how much it would cost to use public transportation. You may be shocked at how much money you can save. In addition you will also be able to get a lot more exercise and just about everyone needs that today.

3. Do bulk shopping. When it comes to food shopping some people shop once every week, and others every two weeks. But if you take the time to plan properly then you can do one bulk shopping trip and you will be good for three to four weeks. 5. Keep your car healthy. If you take the time to keep your car in good running condition then you will avoid having a situation where you’re burning more gas because of a car problem. This would include changing your oil on a regular basis.

6. Check your tire pressure. If your tire pressure is low then you will definitely burn a lot more gas. You should take the time to check your tires once a week; it only takes a few minutes to check all four tires.

7. Try to avoid speeding. When you speed you only end up burning more gas. Just make sure you leave on time and you will not have to worry about rushing. In addition to the fact that you will not have to worry about getting a ticket.

8. Ride your bike. In good weather there is nothing wrong with riding your bike to the store to pick up an extra item or even riding it to work. 9. Walk more. Most towns have small convince stores that are in close proximity to most homes. This includes banks and even libraries. If you can why not walk wherever you need to go. 10. Always fill up your gas tank. Did you know that you actually burn more gas when you don’t fill up your gas tank? Make sure that when you get gas you fill the entire tank.
