The 11th Annual Clarence Lincoln Highway Festival

The 11th Annual Clarence Lincoln Highway Festival will be July 29-30, 2006. This is a great small town celebration with wonderful small town people. There will be a ton to do and lots to eat.

On Saturday, the festival kicks off with a parade through the town at 10 am. Local businesses, neighbors and churches will participate in the event. There will be a free 4-H petting zoo from 11am- 4 pm. Rock climbing , beer garden and tractor pull will also begin at 11 am. Cedar County pork producers will serve a tasty lunch from 11am-2pm. At 12pm, the Home Run Derby (kids k-7th), softball tournament and the high school volleyball tournament will begin. Make sure you register you volleyball team by 11:30 am. The children’s beanbag tournament will begin at 12:30 pm. In the east shelter, the sheepshead tournament will begin at 1 pm. A public safety display will be open from 1-3 pm.

Begin the rest of the afternoon off by being a judge for the dessert bakeoff which will be held from 1:30-3 pm. Categories include cookies/bars, pies, pastries and miscellaneous. Enjoy great music by Raldo Schneider Folk Music from 2-5 pm. Or join the crowd for a fun game of Bingo from 2:30 – 4:30 pm at the Central Shelter. The kids can enjoy the free Blacklight Puppet show at 3 pm. A car cruise through town will begin at 5:30 pm. Supper will be served from 5-8 pm by the Cedar County Cattlemen’s Association. Registration for the adult beanbag tournament will begin at 6:30 pm and games begin at 7pm. The raffle drawing will begin at 7 pm with some great prizes. Tickets may be purchased at Community State Bank in town. Then dance the night away with the DJ: 3D Sound System. Remember to look up at 9:30 for a terrific fireworks show.

Start Sunday morning off right with church service in the park. Bring your lawn chair for service at 10:30 am. Then stay for Sunday dinner presented by the Lions at 11:30 am. Softball tournament begins at 12 pm. At the same time, all ages are welcomed to compete in a sandcastle building. From 1 to 3 pm, visit King Kelly’s children’s games which will include the Kiddie Tractor pull. The junior high volleyball tournament will start at 1pm also. The horseshoe tournament will begin at 2pm. And everyone’s favorite part, the watermelon feed, will begin at 3 pm.
