The 2006 Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off at Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park
The 27th annual Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off presented by Aaron’s sales and Lease is a great way to take in the works of some of the South’s greatest amateur chefs, as well as take in some great classic rock tribute bands, and 100% of the proceeds from the Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off go to benefit Camp Twin Lakes. The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off is considered by some to be the premiere Chili event east of
Texas
, and last year the event had over 12,000 attendees. This year The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off is expect to draw over 300 teams from across the
to participate in the competition.
The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off offers five categories for potential awards. The category of Chili which offers a first place prize of four thousand dollars and a trophy, a second place prize of two thousand five hundred dollars and a trophy, a third place prize of one thousand dollars and a trophy and chili awards for the fourth through tenth place finishers. In the category of Brunswick stew the competition offers prize of one thousand five hundred dollars and a trophy for first place, seven hundred and fifty dollars and a trophy for second place, and four hundred dollars and a trophy for third place. The category of cornbread yields a potential seven hundred and fifty dollars and a trophy for first place, four hundred dollars and a trophy for second place or two hundred and fifty dollars for third place. There are also awards for showmanship with first place taking home one thousand dollars and a trophy, second place taking five hundred dollars and a trophy, and third place taking home two hundred and fifty dollars and a trophy. The final category is people’s choice, with the award being five hundred dollars and a trophy. For admission to The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off, the cost of a ticket for everybody over the age of twelve is ten dollars. Over the course of the day there are four Rock ‘n’ Roll tribute bands that will be performing.
