The 4th Annual Southern Women’s Show Comes to Greensboro, North Carolina
The show is held annually at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Special Events Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. Exhibitors from all over gather for three days of fun in the heart of the Piedmont Triad area. My sisters and I have attended the show for the last two years and we enjoy it a little more each time.
The Southern Women’s show begins on Friday, September 29th and runs through Sunday, October 1st. The hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults at the door, $6.50 for advance on-line tickets, and $4 for children ages six through twelve. Discount coupons are available at local area Chick-Fil-AâÂ?¢ restaurants.
The purpose of the show is to cater to the needs of women. Hundreds of exhibitors will be on hand, specializing in make-up, fashion, cooking, fitness, home decorating, and health concerns. Many of the exhibitors are from the state of North Carolina.
The Food Court at the Southern Women’s Show is always a big hit. Center stage is reserved for the celebrity demonstration kitchen, where participants can learn how to prepare healthy delicious foods for themselves and their families. Representatives from local markets will showcase the best in kitchen cookware and essential products. They will also let you sample the good foods they prepare.
In the area of health and fitness, exhibitors perform massage therapy, manicures, bone density testing, and more. Information on many of today’s major women’s health issues will be available along with health care professionals to answer any questions. One year I purchased aromatherapy pillows for the eyes and neck that could be warmed in the microwave. I use them all the time, especially the eye pillow.
Looking for a whole new you? Visit the beauty exhibitors for cosmetic and skin care tips. Representatives from Avon, Mary Kay, and Beauticontrol cosmetics will be in attendance. A host of boutique owners and jewelers can complete your new look.
Special features at the Southern Women’s Show include live fashion shows and a bachelor auction. The fashion shows this year are hosted by Belk Department Stores and feature the latest in fall style for 2006. There will be two fashion shows-one to benefit famine relief and the other, to benefit breast cancer research. For the single woman looking to make a love connection, make sure to attend the bachelor’s auction. The bachelor’s are local to the Triad and will dress to impress. All proceeds will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
