The 7 Best Children’s Birthday Parties in Delaware

Birthday parties are so much fun for kids but are they fun for the parents? Parents usually stress over children’s birthday parties. Well, with these suggestions, if you live in or near Delaware, parties couldn’t be any easier. Most of the work is done for you at these wonderful establishments made just for kids enjoyment!

1. Brunswick Blue Hen Bowling Lanes, Newark, DE: At this bowling alley, party planning is simple and the party is a blast! Party parents simply have to pay for the party then just show up with the birthday child and a birthday cake and everything else is taken care of. The party will consist of bowling, including shoe rental, a birthday lunch and drinks, and a fun activity. When my daughter attended a party here, they had all the children dance and then sing “Happy Birthday” with 2 “characters”, Spongebob Squarepants, and Batman. In addition, they also have Cosmic Bowling where they have special lights and everything white will glow! It is pretty neat. This party would be appropriate for children ages 4-10 years old. 2. Little Gym, Middletown, DE: At the Little Gym, birthday parties are made simple for parents too. Parents provide the cake and any food but the staff will serve everything and all the parents have to do is enjoy the party. First on the agenda at a Little Gym Party are the activities in the gym. The birthday child gets to pick from a large list of games they wish to play. At least 2 staff members lead the games and exercise on the equipment, and there are more staff if the number of children is larger. There is an hour in the gym with fun music and games. Then all the children wash their hands with “magic soap” and are led into the party room. Food is served if that is brought in otherwise they move right to the cake. Staff serve the food and cake and if time allows, they even lead the opening of presents, writing down each gift and who it is from so the birthday parent will know later who gave which gift. 3. Christiana Roller Rink, Newark, DE: Parties at the skating rink are filled with fun. Each party gets about an hour to skate and 45 minutes in the party room. Music plays throughout the building and keeps the atmosphere fun. The skating rink can be crowded with several parties on the weekends. There is a party room for that is reserved for the party for 45 minutes per party along with your personal party hostess. Parents provide a birthday cake. 5. George Wilson Center, Newark, DE: The George Wilson Center plans and provides birthday parties for children between 3-10 years old. Each party is planned by the birthday child and their personal hostess. There are games in the gym that include typical party games as well as sports. There is also a craft available for each party. And, there is a party room for eating. Parents can bring their own food or have staff at the Wilson Center provide pizzas. Parents can choose to bring paper goods or have the staff supply them. 6. Build-a-Bear Workshop, Newark, DE: At Build-a-Bear, kids get to create their own bear or other stuffed animal. What kid wouldn’t want to take home a stuffed friend? Parents set a budget for the children and the staff keeps the chlidren on target with that budget. You can spend as little as $10 per child or much more if you choose. From the minute you walk in, a staff member takes over and guides the entire party. After children pick a “skin”, the staff member helps them stuff it, add a heart, brush it’s fur, and then, optionally, dress their friend. Games are played while children are waiting to stuff their friend and a photo is taken of the entire group with their new “friends” at the end. No food is allowed in the store so if you choose to have cake, you can take it to the food court of the mall and have it there on your own.
