The Benefits of a Minimalist Bathroom

A minimalist bathroom may look empty and boring to the untrained eye with very few personal touches. But look a little closer and you will find that a minimalist bathroom offers more than a lot of empty space.

More Spacious

There is nothing quite like bathroom clutter such as five bottles of shampoo, three bars of soap and four razors to make a bathroom look and feel small. Even a spacious bathroom can soon shrink in size if it is stuffed full of clutter, making a simple task such as reaching the shower a more difficult task as you have to navigate around the clutter and watch where you walk. But a minimalist bathroom offers more room. This is even better if the bathroom is actually quite small in appearance.

Tidier Appearance

A minimalist bathroom may look like it has no style, but in actual fact, it can look very stylish and tidier than a cluttered bathroom. Toiletries that are not used on a daily basis such as exfoliating masks, bath salts and pedicure sets do not need to be kept out on display. They just take up extra room that could be better used to store daily essentials such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and deodorant. The result is a tidier bathroom where daily toiletry items are readily available and easier to locate.

Easier to Clean

One of the greatest benefits of having a minimalist bathroom is that it is much easier to clean. Cleaning a cluttered, untidy bathroom is a much longer process and is a daunting task. It involves clearing out all the clutter from off the floor, around the sink and on shelves before any cleaning can be done. But when there are only a few essential items left out, clearing these away by temporarily storing them underneath the sink or in drawers can make cleaning the bathroom a much quicker and easier process.

Many homeowners want to personalise their bathrooms just as much as other rooms of the home. But in the process, a bathroom can end up looking cluttered, especially as toiletries and non essential items end up on the floor and around the sink area. A minimalist bathroom does not have to be an empty, boring room that has no character. With careful planning and storage, a minimalist bathroom can look more spacious, tidier and an added bonus is that a minimalist bathroom is also much easier to clean.
