The Best Musical Venues in Birmingham, Alabama

In Birmingham, Alabama there are numerous things to do. But, if you would like to see an amazing concert, there are three absolutely breathtaking music venues in which one must never miss. Whether you are a native of the majestic state of Alabama, or just a tourist who is trying to see everything that this historic state has to offer – there is one thing that is always evident within the city limits of Birmingham, Alabama; you will always have a great music venue to go to!

The first musical venue in which I reviewed is the well-known and extremely popular Alabama Theater. This historic theater was built in 1927 by Paramount Studios as a showcase for their films; for over fifty-five years, The Alabama Theater was controlled by Paramount Studios solely for their films. In 1987, The Alabama Theater was purchased by Birmingham Landmarks Inc., when the owners of the theater declared bankruptcy. As the years passed by, so did the grandeur of this magnificent building. It was in 1998, however, that EverGreene Studios from New York City spent eight months doing a front door to back door reconstruction. Now, The Alabama Theater has returned to it’s beloved state of old. With over 300 events passing through this amazing theater annually, drawing a crowd of a half-a-million audience members a year, there is always something and someone to see at The Alabama Theater.

The second musical venue in which I reviewed is the uniquely different Cave9. At this amazingly different venue, they offer a chance for new and independent artists to showcase their talents. As their mission statement plainly states, “Cave9 is completely volunteer run. We are just a room, a PA and a bunch of people that love music and the independent music scene. We hope that bands that play at CAVE9 are more about the music than (the) money.” If you are looking for a unique experience that is absent from the normal who’s who of snooty music venues, than CAVE9 is absolutely for you. Rich in culture and the attitude that thrives within the “punk” scene, this music venue is one that will absolutely take your breath away, without suffocating your wallet.

The third musical venue in which I reviewed is the amazingly simple and astounding Moonlight Music CafÃ?©. It is within the doors of this musical venue that original acoustic music, as well as well-known performers come to relax and provide a special musical performance. At Moonlight Music CafÃ?©, you will experience a true living-room atmosphere, where a warm, inviting and smoke-free listening room for up to 99 people can enjoy the best music Birmingham, Alabama has to offer. You will never want to go to another music venue after you visit The Moonlight Music CafÃ?©. As you walk in you are greeted by a friendly atmosphere, there are no polls to obstruct one’s view, and the musicians are at an arm’s length away. So if you are tired of the same ole’ music scene, and are in need of a getaway, the Moonlight Music CafÃ?© is the absolute best choice for you. Because it’s not music, if there’s no moonlight.
