The Grim Reaper Took Another
The Grim Reaper Took Another
And left behind family, friends
and her grieving mother.
That Deadly Creeper
Took another young one from our town.
15 years old, Margaret Heinkel,
Died Friday night, hit by the north-bound.
The exact date will not be forgotten,
For years to come.
March, 12, 2004.
Another anniversary date,
When someone will come undone.
She was just hanging out with friends
Who wanted to socialize-
And escape watchful parents doing their job,
With their vigilant eyes.
Kids have hung out for years,
Near these deadly train tracks,
Down at the bottom of Seaward Avenue-
They laugh, they joke,
They’re kids who just want to knock back a few.
Right there, where the northbound train struck her
And dragged her down,
There’s a memorial with flowers, cards
And where friends go to breakdown.
So this is what’s left of another child’s life,
And I’m not much interested who to blame.
Let’s just remember her with the love she deserved,
Margaret Heinkel was her name.
