The Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade
Cleveland’s Hyatt Regency hotel, located downtown in the historic Arcade building, combines history with the latest modern amenities. The hotel, opened in 2001, is housed in what is widely regarded as America’s first shopping mall. Today, the stylish building welcomes visitors, shopping, and lunchtime sightseers as well as hotel patrons.
The Arcade
The Arcade, built in 1890, is made up of two nine-story masonry towers connected by a five-story glass and metal atrium, topped with a 100-foot glass skylight. The building, designed by Cleveland architect John Eisenmann, was financed by prominent Clevelanders, John D. Rockefeller (co-founder of the Standard Oil Co.), (Senator) Marcus Hanna, and Charles Brush (inventor of the first electric streetlamp). The glass atrium is adorned by intricate metalwork, including a row of mischievous gargoyles along the fifth level.
Rooms
The rooms at the Hyatt Regency Cleveland are located in the two towers and the top three floors of the Arcade’s atrium. All of the rooms feature historic vaulted ceilings and many rooms boast large bay windows that overlook the shoppers below. Room amenities include high-speed Internet access, air-conditioning, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, cable TV, and a complimentary daily newspaper. Suites features larger accommodations, some with Jacuzzi tubs and views of Lake Erie.

The Hyatt features a large fitness center, Maxelle’s spa and salon, a 24-hour business center, and 7000-square feet of meeting space. Guests may also take advantage of the shops, restaurant, and food court in the Arcade without going outside.
