The Interpreter

The film takes place at the United Nations in New York City – this is the first movie ever allowed to film inside the building. Silvia Broome (Kidman) is a South African UN interpreter who overhears an assassination plot on a visiting African dictator.

Secret Service Agent Keller (Penn) is assigned to investigate the case. Soon you find out that Silvia’s concealed past is connected with this dictator and she becomes a suspect. As the film progresses, you learn that Broome and Keller have a lot more in common than first thought.

Sydney Pollack has engaged some very intense and emotional performances from these stars. The non-stop action and mounting questions captures you from beginning to end.
