The Lesser of Two Evils

I knocked on God’s study door before entering and found him rehearsing the message to be delivered to the Divine Authors. I asked Him finally, as I had been fighting the urge for quite some time, why the story of Man encountered so many plot twists before the End. He twisted His stoic jaw into a grimace and requested of me another question, muttering something about “concepts incommunicable to Man.” Having no other choice but to acquiesce, I asked what numbers would win the Lottery being drawn in an hour. Now I have more wealth than a nation would need in five lifetimes, and not a day goes by that I don’t Thank God.
