The Miracle of Vinegar

Vinegar which roughly translated means sour wine is one of the most amazing products that is available today. Not only is it inexpensive but it makes many household jobs much easier to accomplish. Below is a short list of things that you can do with vinegar.

Cleaning windows
Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a clean squirt bottle or bowl. Squirt on your windows or mirrors. Wipe with a dry soft cloth or piece of newspaper. What you are left with is a streak free window/mirror that looks brand new. I wash all my mirrors and windows (including my car windows) with vinegar. They shine brightly and are streak free.

Cleaning the Microwave
I don’t know about you but about once a week I have to clean out my microwave. I’m not sure exactly what I am doing wrong but by every Sunday I have bits of this and that stuck everywhere inside of my microwave. But thanks to vinegar it is easy to clean. Place a Ã?¼ cup of vinegar with a cup of water in the microwave. Microwave on high till it boils (time will vary depending on your microwave). Take mixture out of microwave and wipe down with a damp cloth. The food will be loosened and your microwave will be completely deodorized.

Cleaning the Dishes
To get an extra shine and remove spots from your dishes place 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Add your detergent and wash as normal.

Grass/Weeds
You can also use vinegar to kill grass and weeds around your home. Just pour vinegar onto the grass or weeds and they will die.

Freshen Clothes
You can freshen your clothes buy adding 1 cup of white vinegar to the last rinse cycle of your washing. The vinegar will break down any soap residue that remains on your clothing.

Kitchen Odors
From time to time everyone’s kitchen will take on an unfavorable smell. Be it from what you are cooking or the smell or your sink, at one time it will be stinky! Vinegar can get rid of those smells as well. Just boil vinegar and water and then let it continue to simmer on your stove top. The nice thing about vinegar is that the vinegar smell disappears in short time.

Burns/bee stings/jellyfish stings
If you burn yourself, or are stung by a bee or jelly fish pour plenty of white vinegar on the sore body part. This will help ease the burn. In fact when I burn my hand when cooking (which is quite often) I will pour vinegar in a small bowl and rest my hand in it for about half an hour. By the time that 30 minutes is up my hand no longer hurt.

There are many other things you can do with vinegar. These are just a few that I use in my everyday life. The great thing about vinegar is that it does so much and costs so little.
