The New York State Military Museum and Veterans Research Center is located in an armory that was built in 1889. As you walk in, you get the feeling of entering a medieval castle. That was the architecture that was popular for armories built at that time. It houses over 10,000 military artifacts from the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. You can see first hand the equipment that soldiers of 200 years ago used. The real equipment, not reproductions. And best of all there is no admission charge.

New York State Battle Flag Preservation Project
The New York State Military Museum and Veterans Research Center’s permanent collection includes over 1,800 flags from the War of 1812 to the present.
