The North Dallas Design District provides the best concentration of home furnishings in the Metroplex. Bringing together 22 stores, the district encompasses over one million square feet of showrooms. Freed’s Homefurnishings alone is the size of two football fields!

The American Institute of Architect’s Trend Survey reports that media rooms and home offices are the most popular new rooms. Due to rising fuel costs, flexible work arrangements, and better technology, more Dallasites are telecommuting, as well as staying home for movie nights.

Erin McAnally says, “Short of going to a custom builder and asking for a 10’x10′ purple polka dot table, customers at Bassett Furniture Direct can really create their furniture. They can choose fabric, color, three levels of size, arms, feet, back, skirt, or finish and hardware for case goods.”
A representative of The Luxury of Leather share that some customers “even go to the factory to pick the skins and see their pieces being made. They choose the cushions, legs, and from 100 colors of skins.”
Stone Creek is the group’s custom builder, manufacturing build-to-order home theatres, offices, and free-standing furniture. You’ll get a great preview of your finished piece, because Tim Kennedy says, “We can show the customer the concepts on computer and render in color 3-D.”
