The Top Night Clubs in Chicago
If latin dancing is your thing then head over to Green Dolphin Street (773)395-0066, a sleek restaurant and jazz club that brings in great bands playing everything from the traditional to Latin sounds, definitely one of Chicago’s hottest dance spots. Located at 2200 North Ashland Avenue, Green Dolphin offers an awesome ballroom, stocked humidor and the best liquor case I’ve ever seen complete with a friendly staff. Cover varies depending on night, there is a paid lot and plenty of street parking available, reservations recommended. http://www.jazzitup.com/#
Another great Chicago night club to impress the crowd with your salsa moves would be Rumba(312)222-1228 , located at 351 W. Hubbard Street. Rumba is a more pricey restaurant turn late night dance club with a good mix of out of towners and locals. This Chicago hot spot features a stage area where live Latin music entertains from Tuesday to Saturday followed by DJs. http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/search/43334,0,491146.venue
Always wanted to take a spin around a stripper pole? Head over to Transit (312)491-8600, one of Chicago’s top night clubs for a reason. This sexy dance club has two stripper poles overlooking the huge dance floor both of which are rarely allowed to go cold. Djs spin everything from hip hop to reggaeton to techno. Aside from the main room there is a VIP lounge overlooking the main dance floor , a must visit, the Chandelier Room in the back, also great, and the Light bar which is mostly crowded with those ladies waiting in line to peer at themselves in a mirror. Cover $10-20, street parking possible. 1431 W. Lake St. http://www.transitnightclubchicago.com/
Two of my favorite, never fail, top places to just dance all night in Chicago are Wet (312)223-9232 and Crobar (312)266-1900. Wet, located at 209 West Lake St., is a glam two story club decorated in blue and silver hues. Djs mix everthing from old school to reggae and top 40 to R&B, the crowd never stops moving. You will wait to get in even if you are on a list, avoided only by purchasing bottle service in advance which does get you into the upper VIP lounge. http://www.wetchicago.com
Chicago’s other top choice would be Crobar, where the whole club is centered around a huge dance floor. The upper level overlooking the dance floor is lined with chairs to recline and canoodle complete with a glass closed VIP room. DJs keep the room pumping with mostly disco, Techno/rave and Hip Hop. 1543 N. Kingsbury, valet recommended, cover $0-20. http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/search/28334,0,1146509.venue
