The Various Uses of Baking Soda in the Home

There are numerous ways that one may use baking soda in the home. Baking soda is a relatively cheap, yet effective means to accomplish the many tasks associated with home life. In this article, I will describe some of the many ways in which I have used baking soda in the home.

I have two young children, and because of this, I have used baking soda numerous times in a variety of situations. I am delighted to report that each time I used baking soda in the home on this occasions, it successfully accomplished the task that I hoped it would. I will now outline a few things that I used baking soda in the home for that had to do with my children:

Both of my kids got into the habit of missing the pages in their coloring books and managed to color other items that you are not suppose to, like the walls and furniture. I created a mixture of baking soda and water and used this mixture, combined with a sponge to clean the area with crayon marks. The mixture should be a little thick and should be applied as soon as you notice the marks.

During the process of potty training, before we were able to afford disposable liners, if one of our children wet their bed throughout the night, we would sprinkle baking soda over the mattress after taking off the wet sheet and cleaning it with a baking soda solution to get rid of the soiled smell and clean the mattress effectively. It is ideal to make the first cleaning solution that you apply to the bed thin so that you can easily clean the mattress. Once the mattress is scrubbed down, you should get a fan and place near the bed so that the mattress can dry. Once the mattress is dry, you can then sprinkle the baking soda lightly over the mattress and place the clean sheet on.

When our children were on the bottle, we often found that the stains and smells from the formula were difficult to get out. Eventually, I started mixing baking soda with dishwater in order to try to alleviate some of the staining and odor. This made a huge difference in the time it took to clean the bottles and alleviated the issue of the staining and the odors. I normally used about a tablespoon of baking soda to a half a sink full of hot water.

Instead of purchasing expensive stain lifters for my children’s clothing, I have started to use about a half of cup of baking soda to my washer when I do laundry. Not only does it effectively remove stains, but it also deodorizes. In addition to using baking soda in the home with children, it can be used in a variety of other ways as well. I have found that using baking soda to clean has proven to be extremely practical and successful. Baking soda is a great way to lift tough stains and removes odors from surfaces and the home as well. Using baking soda in the home can be quite effective for most tasks and it is inexpensive. In addition, a little can go a long way. By using baking soda in the home, you are sure to be pleased by how effective it is and how much money you will save in the end.
