The Versatility of Borax- It’s for More Than Just Your Laundry

Borax can be used as a floor and wall cleaner. It does an amazing job and leaves your floor sparkly clean. It is also good for your carpet and mattresses. Do you have unwanted smells or stains? Maybe you have a pet or you are working with your toddler to get them potty trained. Borax is great at removing both odors and stains from your furniture also. There’s not many things that Borax won’t cure. This however can take up to an hour but it is very easy. You will first want to dampen any soiled areas with water then sprinkle borax over the areas. Take a sponge or a brush and run over the areas. Then simply let it dry and then an hour later vacuum the remaining borax powder.

Maybe you want to make your own scouring powder for either your bathroom or your kitchen. Look no further, borax can help with that also. Just take some borax, baking soda and some hot water. This is the perfect mixture for a natural cleaner to keep your sinks, toilet, and bath tubs clean. Maybe your kids are big fans of slim and stuff of that nature. Borax will save you time and money. It is very simple to make you own slime. Here’s how:
Mix in a bowl Ã?½ cup of water, 1 cup of glue and stir in 4 drops of food coloring, this is of course optional. Then mix Ã?½-teaspoon borax in Ã?½ cup of water in a different bowl. After that, you will want to slowly add the borax mixture to the glue mixture and stir it very well. Takes 15 minutes, when you are not using the slime its best time keep in a sealed container so it doesn’t dry out.

Do you have crafts such as drying flowers out? You can make your own dried flower arrangements with a drying agent like borax. If you love drying out flowers to make potpourri then you’ll love the help you receive from borax. It is not very difficult and usually takes about a week. You simply just cut your flowers and then sprinkle the borax over the bottom of some small box. A shoebox would be great. You can add up to two flowers and then place a lid over the top of the box and make sure to tape the box shut. You will want to make sure the box is always in sitting in room temperature weather. After a week, take the lid off and make sure to strain off all the borax powder and Viola’. You are done. Make sure you save the powder as it can be used for the same thing in the future.

Ok, for all you who hate insects as much as I do will love the fact that Borax acts as a roach killer. Those who are afraid of the regular traps for roaches, or even the fumers would love borax. It is the safest way to get rid of those unwanted critters. Simply mix some of the borax powder and some powdered sugar into a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture into the cracks of the walls, or even under your cupboards. You will want to make sure though if you do have children or pets, that they cant get into it. Repeat one to two weeks until all are gone
