There Are Many Needy Children This Christmas

With the economy in the shape it is and all the Hurricanes and Tornados that have happened over the past year. Many families for one reason or another are having it so hard this Christmas that, just paying the bills is a major hurdle to jump. So Christmas for many families is going to be slim to none. Lots of these families have never before experienced such hardship at Christmas.

Many kids in America are going to wake up Christmas morning this year and be lucky if they have even just one gift to open. Some families displaced from the hurricanes and tornados are still without their own home and some without a dear family member.

This year we really need to concentrate on what Christmas is really all about. Christmas is about love, hope and helping your neighbor.

Children don’t understand that Christmas is about Jesus not the gifts they receive. They do need to know what Christmas is all about but it will not help the younger ones understand why Santa wasn’t generous this year.

Children in this generation have seen and heard of so many scary things probably more then almost any other generation before them. First there was 911 where some lost a Father or Mother. Even those who didn’t lose someone they love or live even close to New York were still terrified to realize even in America bad people can get in and hurt us. Then there is the war for them to see on the news everyday. Then the weather started going crazy. And now Christmas for many will be a lot different then they have experienced before.

We need to try and help the needy children so at least for one day they can escape the horrors of all the stuff they see and hear everyday. We also should tell them about the birth of Christ if this is what your family believes and what Christmas really is all about.

Seeing the smile on the face of child from knowing someone cared enough to get them a warm coat or their favorite doll or car is one you will be glad you help create.
