Thermage Non-Surgical Face Lifts
The most commonly known names for the type of procedure I am referring to are the thermage and therma-cool techniques. Thermage is the more popular name but both thermage and therma-cool actually refer to the brand name of the machine used by the professional.. Many professionals commonly refer to this type of non-surgical face life as “radio wave bombardment”.
The way the procedure works is by actually subjecting the skin to radio waves. The frequency of the waves causes the top layer of the skin to break down on a molecular level. In order to repair itself the skin produces collagen. The good news is that there is no cutting, no bleeding and the repair takes place of several months time. That is, over several months the face creates new skin which is firmer, tighter and closer in appearance to younger skin. Skin that is sagging actually lifts to where it was formerly because of this tightening of the skin. Another benefit is that there are no tell tale signs that you have done a thing to alter your appearance. Many people have a thermage treatment done and go out in public or return to work the same day.
While a person undergoes a thermage treatment there is a stinging sensation. Many skin professionals give the patient a light sedative for this reason. While there is pain, it is tolerable and certainly nowhere near what someone endures when they have a traditional face lift.
The effects of a thermage or therma-cool procedure last for a number of years. There really is no way to tell exactly how long, as it varies from person to person. However three to four years seems to be about average. At that time the procedure can be done again, if the person wishes to do so. A standard face lifts do not last that much longer. Plus, considering that they take months to recover from and include cutting scarring many are opting to try a gentler approach.
Whether a person has a traditional or non-surgical face lift they can expect to look about ten to fifteen years than they did before the procedure.
Prices vary widely but you can expect to pay from two to five thousand for a full facial thermage. A traditional face lift costs many times that. It would not be unrealistic to expect to pay ten or fifteen thousand dollars rs for a qualified surgeon.
So if you wish to look ten to fifteen years younger without people one knowing, without breaking the bank, taking time off from your life or a lot of discomfort “radio wave bombardment” might just be the option for you..
