Things to See and Do in Las Vegas
The Bellagio is THE place to stay if you want absolute elegance and luxury. Located on 122 acres at the corner of Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard features 36 stories with over 2,500 rooms and 400 suites. Rooms are done in a European theme with artwork and antiques galore. The massive hotel includes a beauty salon, spa, wedding chapels, VIP lounge, pools, and even a lake. The Ritz-Carlton is located 17 miles from the strip but features a luxurious spa and fitness center which happens to be ranked among the top 10 spas in the U.S. The 36-hole golf course is another main attraction at this beautiful hotel. Nearby you’ll find everything from shopping to festivals to live concerts.
The Venetian has many of the same things other hotel casinos have: luxury rooms, fine dining, entertainment and gambling but the theme surrounds Venice and features gondola rides down a real canal of beauty. The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum, Canyon Ranch Spa Club and huge suites will also grab your attention.

If you’d like to take a break from the hotel casino experience visit Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Vegas. Visitors can view colorful rock formations on one of many different hiking trails or along a scenic drive. During the 13-mile drive you can see the nature reserve, deserts, wildlife and more.
The Liberace Museum is an interesting way to spend a couple of hours. The building houses costumes, jewelry, pianos and cars of the once-famous piano man. Or, how about the Elfis-A-Rama Museum where the largest private collection of Elvis memorabilia in the world is on display. There’s even a wax museum with images of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr or Dean Martin are amongst the famous celebrities at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. The Casino Legends Hall of Fame is a specialty museum that features the history of the gaming and entertainment industries with memorabilia from over 700 casinos.
Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is an amazing display of dolphins and other fish in four pools containing 2.5 million gallons of water and an artificial reef. The wildlife park will thrill any child, too. Children will also love the Las Vegas Natural History Museum where they can view exhibits like dinosaurs, sharks, or even Nevada wildlife.
The Tournament of Kings is a dinner and performance show with a medieval theme. The Imperial Palace Auto Collection houses over 800 antique vehicles on display. And the Haunted Vegas Tour & Show will interest everyone who’s intrigued by the ghosts of Las Vegas.
The White Tiger Habitat is another famous attraction in Vegas where exotic animals, formerly used by Sigfried and Roy in their stage show, are on display and can be seen for free. If you’re staying in or around the Bellagio you’ll be impressed by the nightly water show where crowds gather to see the colored lights sparkle in the fountains.
Is history more your style? Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort was built by missionaries in 1855 and is considered the birthplace of Las Vegas. The historic village features the remains of the village, well-kept, along with a small gift shop. And the King Tut’s Tomb and Museum is small but contains a reproduction of King Tut’s complete tomb.
If you’ve come to Vegas without the kids you’ll enjoy dropping by the Ghost Bar at the Palms Casino Resort. Located on the 55th floor the bar is famous for the celebrity guests, the rooftop deck and a see-through acrylic floor which looks through to another lounge below. There are so many things to see and do in Vegas that a lifetime wouldn’t provide you the opportunity to experience it all. To have a successful trip plan and make reservations well in advance, get plenty of rest before going since you’ll be doing a lot of walking and staying up late, and make sure you take plenty of money – Las Vegas isn’t cheap.
