Three Ideas for Transforming Your Patio
Patios are for entertaining, not just for something to say that wounds weird the more often you say it. Patio. Patio. Patio. It really is an odd word. But not an odd addition to the yard. You may think you know all about patios. See, I told you it sounds weird the more you say and you don’t even have to say it all that many times. You don’t know all there is to know about patios. Here are three interesting ideas for patios that you may not have taken into consideration. Ideas for patios that can transform look and feel of backyard entertaining.
Pocket Patio
A pocket patio is not one that you can actually keep in your pocket nor is it even one that you can create on a Sims-like video game. Add to the overall design and elegance of your patio with the addition of what is known as a pocket patio. Which is simply a smaller offshoot of your main patio given over to specific modes of entertainment. For instance, you might add a pocket patio as a place where you can get the kids away from the grown-ups. Or perhaps a pocket patio would be where you place the built-in grill. You could, theoretically, even construct a pocket patio as place for your smoker friends to get their fix courtesy of the addition of a fan that blows their noxious fumes away from the direction of the main patio.
Levels
A boring patio can be redone to cover the exact same space-or thereabouts-in a way that provides leagues more interest. Consider creating a patio that provides different levels. Height is what we’re talking about here. Levels of varying heights can be accomplished by laying out the patio naturally so that it adheres to changes in elevation. Levels can be manipulated on a lawn flatter than a joke delivered by Jay Leno as well. Just lay down a thicker foundation, whether that foundation is created with a flat concrete stage or with wooden planks or even tiles. You can also create differences in elevation by bringing in more dirt upon which to build the patio. Adding steps that take you from one level to the next is another good way to add dramatic flair.
Customized Pavers
Shop around for molds that can be used to create customized or highly personalized designs for pavers. Even better, if you have the talent, create your own molds and made concrete pavers that are a one of time. The more creative and imaginative the molds you can make, the more of a joy patio will become. If you can find a way make patio pavers that are distinctively representative of you, your patio will become a conversation piece as well as a conversation place.
