Three Local Music Venues in Raleigh
Like to listen to different styles of music depending on your mood or you date?
Bogart’s American Grill on Glenwood Avenue In-town is just the place for you.
The music venue here varies from Country to the softest Jazz. One night it might be a return to the disco favorites that died off in the late 60’s, with every brave soul doing their best impressions of John Travolta. The next night it could be a heart jerking country set with country stars from the Deep South.
If it is variety that makes a place rock your socks, Bogart’s has it.
Along with the fine music, Bogart’s provides an extensive menu to go with the music. And should you need some beer to ‘drown your tears’, Bogart’s has a ready supply of a good variety of beers, wines and hard drinks. Just in case the beer doesn’t do it.
Bogart’s is a popular in-town spot for business meetings and dining events both large and small.

42nd St. Oyster Bar & Grill has tradition of Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening music. The music is provided by local and regional groups that follow the nightclub circuit.
One interesting thing about the 42nd St. Oyster Bar, is their view that food should be served hot. They will not wait until everyone’s meal is ready to serve you. They will get the food to you as it becomes ready. This will allow you to enjoy your oysters as you listen to the music. For some folks this breaks with long held manners and tradition.
The seafood is heavenly fresh every single day, delivered from the sea to your plate.

The Brewery is yet another great offering with a music venue set to meet with a lot of differing tastes. They schedule a range of bands and music groups which would fit the style of a pub. The selection is of a slightly narrower range than Bogart’s but would provide a wider selection than 42nd St. and more nights of the week. They are very proud to bring local, regional and national music groups to the pub. Though they have been in Raleigh for over two decades, they disappeared for a couple of months in 2004. The Brewery returned under new management and is quickly getting its second breath. They are proud of the fact that they often push the envelope with the bands and groups they invite. The selections they offer would be more experimental than Bogart’s. Disco would not be among the offerings you are likely to find here. Raggae has been on selection list.

These are just a few of the numerous music venues in Raleigh. There are few places where you will find a wider selection of music available on any day of the week. As a small city the vast majority of selections are available from Thursday to Saturday nights. As the city continues to grow the selections are becoming available on Sunday and the remaining weekdays.
