Three Things We Can Learn from Celebrity Parents Who Are Doing it Right

With all of the negative scrutiny on celebrity parents, it’s time to start celebrating the ones who are doing it right. Here are three celebrity couples who are nailing the parenting thing, and share some great tips for us to learn. No parent ever is perfect, but it’s time to start celebrating the triumphs verses the failures.

How to respectfully stand up for your kids: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner

Ben and Jen have often been referred to as two of the most down-to-earth celebrity parents out there today. You rarely see them grace the covers of celebrity magazines, and when you do hear about them, it’s always in a positive light.

So when Ben Affleck was caught on camera yelling at a paparazzi after he asked Ben’s daughter Violet what her new baby siblings’ name would be, many people were surprised by his response. However, if you take another look at the video, Ben shut the door so his daughter wouldn’t have to hear his interaction, and calmly asked the paparazzi to not speak to his child. Props to Ben for keeping it calm and collected, and for standing up for his daughter in a respectful way.

Family Time Comes First: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have done a decent job of balancing two professional careers while tending to the needs of their seven children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivian and Knox. Any parent would struggle with raising seven children without a Hollywood career, but these successful starlets have the balancing act down to a T. The parents both take time off from their careers to spend quality time with their children, as seen in the recent photos of the family taking their children for a fun weekend out in Sydney and to Lego Land in Windsor.

Children are not money makers: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

With the constant demand for more pictures, stories and insider insights to the real life of celebrities, it’s no surprise that magazines are willing to pay thousands, if not millions of dollars for the exclusive first pictures of new celebrity babies. While many celebrity parents donate the proceeds of their children’s first pictures to charity, such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did with the proceeds from the photos taken after their daughter, Shiloh’s birth, others have taken a firm stance and stated that their children are not their personal ATM card.

Despite the negative scrutiny Kim Kardashian and Kanye West receive about their parenting skills, and frankly anything they do in their personal life, they deserve credit for choosing not to sell pictures of their daughter, North West, to magazines. Kim and Kanye said no to the rumored multi-million dollar offers for a first glimpse of North, and instead posted her first picture to social media, just like any average Jane and Joe mom and dad.
