Throw a Graduation Party for Your Kindergartener

Most people will not think about throwing a party for a kindergarten graduation. But more and more schools are now having graduation ceremonies for kindergarten. It helps the little ones to see that they are rewarded for all of their hard work. So why not throw them a graduation party to further congratulate them. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like to have it. What most parents choose to do is of course make it a surprise party. Kids love surprises especially when it is a party. The first thing you will want to do is get your list together.

You will of course want to invite the family, but make sure you also invite your child’s friends. You may want to avoid inviting your child’s entire kindergarten class, especially if there were some they did not get along with. But if your child got along well with everyone and if you have room to accommodate them all why not. At least one month prior to the last day of school you will want to make sure you have all of the parents telephone numbers and address of all the children you want to invite. If it is going to be a surprise for your child, make sure that you mention this to the parents. You will also want to make sure that you include a RSVP date on the invitations this way you will be able to get a final head count. The point of getting the final head count is to make sure that you will have enough food prepared.

The next thing that you will want to do is decide on a location. For most summer parties especially for small children parents choose to use the parks that have pools. It is a very affordable way to have a party for your child and you can invite as many people as you like. If money is not an issue however, you could choose to rent a room at one of your local children’s places like gymboree, or chuck -e-cheese to name just a few. But since the majority of parents these days are on a budget this article will focus more on the inexpensive ways to have a graduation party for your little one.

Since you are dealing with young children you will want to make sure that the menu is appropriate. Check with the parents ahead of time to make sure that no one has any allergies. But it is pretty hard to go wrong with hot dogs, and hamburgers. Also do not forget about the parents. You can save a lot of money if you have a Bar-B-Q style party, and buy all of your meat bulk. Don’t forget to also include the snacks. The party would not be complete if there were not any chips and dip for the children to much on.

As for the entertainment, you will definitely need plenty of activities to keep the children occupied. You could think about renting an inflatable ball bouncing pit or the inflatable slide. Most party stores will have these items available to rent. Another suggestion is to rent a petting zoo. There are many petting zoos that will travel to your location with their animals, some even provide pony rides. To find out about these services you can do an on-line search, or ask about them at your local party store they always have additional information and resources. If you have chosen to have your party at the park or at a location with a pool. You will want to make sure that at least several lifeguards are present.

If the facility does not provide one, it would be in your best interest to hire a few yourself. Make sure that anyone you choose is well qualified and has experience. If however you choose to have the party at the park without the pool you may want to plan some type of water activity. One thing that all kids love in the summer time is to play in the water. There are dozens of water slides and water games that you can get at your local toy store like Toys R Us. They have a very large variety especially for children of this age group.

Last but not least you will want to make sure that you have a small table set aside for your child’s gifts. You will not have to make your child open the gifts at the party, but later on that evening or the next day you will want to make sure that your child writes thank you notes for everyone that gave him or her a gift. Graduation parties do not have to just be for teenagers graduating high school, but can be for a child of any age. Your child should understand that you are very proud of their accomplishments throughout the year especially at this age, when they are still learning about life.
