Founded in 1927 by William Bright, Sr. and William Dunk, Sr., today, Dunk & Bright has almost 100,000 square feet of showroom space and is the largest furniture store in the state of New York. The store offers an interior design service and works with both commercial and residential customers.

By 1970, three more stores had opened, and in 1972, the company opened a warehouse showroom in suburban Liverpool. The company continued to expand, and in 1990, Raymour acquired 14 Flanigan stores. The new company, Raymour & Flanigan, became the largest furniture store in the state of New York. The company has continued to expand, and in 2005 had 59 showrooms in six states, employing over 2,900 people.

China Towne Furniture (2320 Milton Ave, Solvay)

China Towne Furniture is proof that appearances aren’t everything. From the outside, this store doesn’t have much character, but once you step inside, the selection of furniture is overwhelming. China Towne continues to offer low prices, but now you can buy top of the line furniture at a discount price. The store is proud to represent Natuzzi Leather, Lane, Simmons, Basset Mirror, Samuel Lawrence, and Riverside, to name a few.

China Towne has an accommodating delivery schedule, and in some cases, you can get your furniture delivered the same day. They also deliver on Saturday and can arrange to have your furniture delivered out of town.

Ethan Allen Home Interiors (Dewitt Avenue, Dewitt)

Ethan Allen started in 1932 in New York as Baumritter & Co. In 1936, the company purchased a factory in Beecher Falls, Vermont where they began to manufacturing Ethan Allen furniture. The line debuted in 1939. Since then, the company has become one of the foremost manufacturers of colonial style furniture in the U.S.

Ethan Allen offers top quality furniture along with design consultants who can help you transform your home into a showcase. The store is subdued, and the furniture is classic in design. The onsite designers offer onsite service as well.

Adirondack Furniture (North State Street)

Located on Syracuse’s North Side, Adirondack Furniture offers quality furniture at a reasonable price. The store is owned by Carl Lahah who opened his first store in 1979 in East Syracuse. There are now four stores three in Syracuse and one in nearby New Hartford all of which feature name-brand furniture.
